Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality respiratory care and therapies to patients in a compassionate way
Assess and monitor patients’ respiratory status and respond to changes quickly
Administer respiratory treatments, manage oxygen therapy and assist with ventilator care
Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied staff to create and execute care plans
Accurately document treatments, patient responses and clinical observations
Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions and home care when appropriate

Qualifications

Active Missouri respiratory care license (required)
Credentialed as RRT or CRT (preferred)
Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred where applicable
Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting with strong clinical judgment
Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation and acid-base assessment
Airway management and oxygen therapy
Patient assessment and clinical monitoring
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
Infection control and safety procedures
