Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (night schedule; exact start/end times assigned by unit), guaranteed 36 hours/week, 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period; 12-hour night rotations with holiday coverage as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity trauma, ortho and post-op surgical nursing care on a 30-bed telemetry unit
- Monitor telemetry continuously and interpret cardiac rhythms to act quickly and safely
- Perform sterile procedures including Foley insertion and central line dressing changes per SIMs lab expectations
- Administer medications and manage ventilator adjuncts (BiPAP/CPAP) in collaboration with RT
- Collaborate with IV SWAT, pharmacy and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to related units as needed (Observation, VMU, T6, T5, 6N, 5N MedSurg) while maintaining quality care
- Educate patients and families about post-op care, wound management and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the U.S. (eligible to submit license as needed)
- Minimum 2 years telemetry experience required; Level 1 trauma experience is a must
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Able to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed) prior to acceptance
- Successful completion of unit SIMs lab (Foley insertion and central line dressing change) on day 1 of orientation
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (50-mile radius rule applies; travel teams must have own vehicle)
- Professional appearance standards: natural hair color, no facial piercings; men must be clean shaven for fit testing
Education
- Active RN license required. BSN not required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition (Phillips telemetry experience a plus)
- Cerner EMR charting proficiency
- Sterile technique, Foley catheter insertion and central line care
- Acute post-operative nursing, wound care and transplant postoperative management
- Ability to work 1:4-5 ratios on a busy acute telemetry/surgical floor
- Comfort managing patients with BiPAP/CPAP and collaborating with respiratory therapy
