Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with mobility, bathing, dressing, meal assistance, and toileting
- Observe and report changes in residents' physical or mental condition to nursing staff
- Support residents' dignity and independence while ensuring safety
- Accurately document care provided and communicate effectively with the care team
- Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
- Participate in team rounding and contribute to person-centered care plans
Qualifications
- GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent certification; state certification preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working with older adults and assisting with ADLs
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved GNA/CNA program or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic knowledge of geriatric care principles and infection control
- Skill in safe resident handling and mobility assistance
- Ability to take and record vital signs and observations accurately
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
- Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
