Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, dignified care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers while encouraging independence
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns
• Accurately document care, observations, and resident needs
• Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols consistently
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to deliver person-centered care
• Be a friendly, calming presence that helps residents feel at home

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and safe resident transfers
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Previous long-term care or geriatric experience preferred but enthusiastic new caregivers encouraged to apply

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of geriatric care principles and dementia-friendly approaches
• Skilled in safe patient handling and infection control practices
• Accurate documentation and basic charting abilities
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with older adults
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate changes to the clinical team
