Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to older adults, promoting dignity and quality of life
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Support mealtime assistance and monitor dietary needs, adapting to individual preferences
• Observe, report, and document changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Follow infection control procedures and facility policies to keep residents safe
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver person-centered care
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
• Ability to pass facility background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and ADL support
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Infection prevention and universal precautions
• Reliable documentation and reporting of resident status
• Teamwork and effective communication with residents, families, and staff
