Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care to promote comfort and dignity
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document per facility policy
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to RN/MD
- Assist residents with activities of daily living while encouraging independence
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate, timely charting and participate in effective shift handoffs
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for residents
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Mexico (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or equivalent) preferred
- Comfort with medication administration, patient assessment, and basic wound care
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a resident-first mindset
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN/Vocational Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of medication administration and documentation best practices
- Skilled in taking and interpreting vital signs and basic assessments
- Familiarity with infection prevention and resident safety procedures
- Good charting and electronic health record (EHR) skills
- Time management, prioritization, and effective communication with staff and families
