Shift Type: Night shifts, 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; every other weekend (Friday & Saturday for nights); holiday rotation and occasional standby/on-call rotation

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care to ICU and PCU patients, including sepsis, respiratory failure, DKA and post-op complications
- Titrate drips and manage common infusions such as sedation, vasopressors and insulin with precision
- Perform bedside 12‑lead EKGs and interpret dysrhythmias as part of ongoing cardiac monitoring
- Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy to manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP and advanced airway support
- Monitor telemetry and review remote monitor tech alerts to keep patients safe and stable
- Serve as primary caregiver when assigned (including coverage without a nurse aide) and escalate changes in condition promptly
- Float between MCU, EC MST, Pediatric units and West Campus when needed to maintain competency across acuities
- Participate in charge/standby rotations and contribute to a fair holiday/weekend schedule
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (required)
- ACLS and BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (PCU/Med-Surg + ICU considered for candidates from larger facilities)
- Demonstrated ability to titrate drips and manage critical care infusions
- Comfortable with ventilator/BiPAP/CPAP support and bedside cardiac monitoring
- Proficiency with Cerner charting systems preferred
- Willingness to float to other units and campuses with appropriate notice
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to contract start (80% passing threshold)
- Candidates must meet facility radius and affiliation rules: cannot have been full-time/part-time/PRN with CommonSpirit (including CHI/Dignity) within the past 12 months and must comply with the 50-mile radius restriction
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma accepted — BSN not required
- Active RN license for Arizona
- Unit and hospital orientation required (orientation hours posted)
Knowledge & Skills
- Dysrhythmia recognition and 12‑lead EKG acquisition
- Telemetry monitoring and remote monitor collaboration
- Drip titration protocols and infusion management
- Ventilator fundamentals and working with RT on ventilator/BiPAP/CPAP patients
- Critical care assessment and prioritized interventions for sepsis, respiratory arrest, DKA and post-op issues
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record workflows
- Charge nurse experience and ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients when required
