Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts (3x12), 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM, typically 3 shifts per week (Day)
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with and support cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures including TAVR, PCI, left and right heart catheterizations, and device procedures
- Monitor procedural sedation and manage airway, IV therapy, and emergency medications with vigilance
- Provide expert pre-procedural and post-procedural patient care to ensure safe, efficient throughput
- Manage central lines, assist with line insertions, and administer blood products safely
- Apply infection prevention and isolation precautions consistently to protect patients and staff
- Use vascular closure systems and topical hemostasis tools to support vascular access management
- Operate in high-acuity settings including assistive device placements (IABP, Impella, VAD) and respond to emergent situations
- Communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team and educate patients and families about procedures and recovery
- Float to other UCSF facilities as needed to support system-wide patient care
Qualifications
- Active California RN license (required)
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Cardiac Cath / Interventional Cardiology
- Demonstrated experience with Structural Heart procedures and TAVR
- Experience with Cath/EP environment and pre/post procedural care
- Comfort with ventilator management and advanced hemodynamic monitoring (preferred)
- Able to float to other UCSF facilities and work scheduled holiday rotations
- Travel assignment experience and flexibility to work at various hospital sites
- Facility-required COVID-19 vaccination with booster (medical/religious exemptions allowed per policy)
Education
- Active California RN license (required)
- AHA BLS (required)
- AHA ACLS (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac Cath Lab procedures and interventional cardiology workflow
- Procedural sedation monitoring and reversal agent knowledge
- Sheath removal and vascular access care
- IV therapy, central line management, and blood product administration
- Infection prevention, isolation precautions and proper PPE use
- Familiarity with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and topical hemostasis products
- 12-lead EKG interpretation and intra-procedural monitoring (TEE, Swan-Ganz)
- Experience with IABP, Impella, VAD support and device-assisted procedures
- Comfort with emergency medications, antiarrhythmics, vasopressors, and thrombolytics
