Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and document vital signs and report meaningful changes to the nursing team
• Assist with safe patient transfers, ambulation, and mobility support
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation to support continuity of care
• Help create a clean, comfortable and safe environment for patients
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Support admission, discharge and transfer processes to keep the unit running smoothly

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state-certified or eligible for New Jersey state certification)
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
• Background check and drug screening clearance as required by the facility
• Comfortable working day shifts and every other weekend; dependable and patient-focused
• Previous long-term care or acute care experience is a plus, new grads encouraged to apply

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care and bedside assistance skills
• Basic clinical observation and accurate documentation
• Infection control and safety-conscious care practices
• Clear, empathetic communication with patients and team members
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy unit
• Teamwork and flexibility to support varying patient needs
