Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, schedule varies (may include weekends). Night shift (primary): 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Day shift also available: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Shift assignments depend on unit needs.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate patient care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to rhythm changes promptly
- Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments accurately
- Assess patients and document clinical changes clearly and timely
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning
- Lead and participate in unit-based initiatives to improve quality and safety
- Respond effectively to emergencies and assist in rapid response or code situations
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain RN licensure in Hawaii
- Medical-surgical and telemetry experience required; confidence on a med-surg telemetry floor
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends as needed
- Strong clinical assessment, prioritization and communication skills
- Ability to pass required background checks and pre-employment screenings
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in cardiac telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
- Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration and patient assessments
- Knowledge of infection prevention and patient safety best practices
- Ability to prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset with strong patient advocacy and communication skills
