Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to elderly residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support nursing staff by taking vital signs and communicating changes in condition
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, keeping resident dignity and safety front and center
- Help create a comfortable, clean environment by performing bedside care and basic housekeeping tasks
- Document resident care accurately and promptly, ensuring continuity and quality
- Engage residents with respectful, person-centered interaction to boost wellbeing
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
- Proven experience or demonstrated ability working with elderly residents (per-diem experience welcome)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background checks and required facility screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic geriatric care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Skilled in safe transfer and mobility techniques
- Familiarity with infection control and basic safety procedures
- Clear documentation skills and ability to follow care plans
- Team-player mindset with good interpersonal and observation skills
