Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality medical-surgical nursing care across multiple units
• Assess and monitor patients, intervene as needed, and document care in Meditech EMR
• Manage specialty equipment such as wound VACs and chest tube systems safely and effectively
• Safely administer medications using Pyxis and follow unit medication protocols
• Float between Medical, Laulima (surgical acute) and occasional Cardiovascular units to meet patient needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes
• Maintain professional nursing standards, adhere to infection control and facility immunization requirements
• Participate in orientation and ongoing unit-specific training to maintain clinical competence

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• BLS required; ACLS required
• Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• 2–10 years of relevant nursing experience (medical-surgical experience strongly preferred)
• Comfort and experience with floating between units and working night 12-hour shifts
• Demonstrated ability to manage wound VACs, chest tubes, and use Meditech EMR and Pyxis

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical nursing skills and patient assessment
• Experience with Meditech EMR for documentation and charting
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication systems
• Wound care expertise including wound VAC management
• Chest tube care and troubleshooting
• Flexibility and adaptability to float across different inpatient units
