Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on nursing care to residents and patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs
- Document care clearly and timely in the charting system
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and follow care plans
- Educate patients and families about care plans and health needs
- Respond to urgent situations calmly and act according to protocols
- Support a positive, respectful environment that promotes dignity
Qualifications
- Active LPN license in New Mexico (or eligible to obtain one)
- OR active RN license if applying as an RN candidate (facility accepts LPN|RN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Comfortable with 12+ hour day shifts and flexible per-diem scheduling
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehab, or similar settings a plus
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program (or accredited RN program if applying as RN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled with medication administration and documentation
- Solid knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
- Proficient at taking and interpreting vital signs and basic assessments
- Familiarity with electronic charting/EMR systems
- Excellent patient/family communication and empathy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patient needs
