Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, mobility, toileting, feeding)
- Accurately document resident status, care provided, and any changes in condition
- Follow individualized care plans and report clinical concerns to the nursing team
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications
- Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prior experience in geriatric or long-term care settings a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working within a team and following care plans and facility policies
Education
- High school diploma or GED; completion of an approved GNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care and ADL assistance skills
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and the care team
- Basic clinical observation and reliable reporting skills
- Familiarity with infection control and safety best practices
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Positive attitude and a commitment to person-centered care
