Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Provide compassionate, respectful bedside care that preserves dignity
- Monitor and record vital signs and residents behavior changes accurately
- Support safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics
- Communicate clearly with nursing staff and families to coordinate care
- Maintain clean, safe environments and follow infection control practices
- Document care timely and accurately in facility records
Qualifications
- Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
- Valid state required credentials and ability to pass background checks
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident assistance techniques
- Basic understanding of infection control and safety practices
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Good observational skills to notice changes in resident condition
- Teamwork, time management, and effective communication with staff and families
