Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide continuous airway management for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients with skill and compassion
- Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilators, including PB 980, PB 840, V60 and transport vents
- Perform advanced respiratory care interventions and support physician-directed respiratory plans
- Lead emergency respiratory responses and deliver high-quality CPR when needed
- Document patient care accurately using computerized charting systems and Pyxis medication workflows
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and continuity of care
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and equipment in a clear, reassuring way
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, infection control, and employee health requirements
Qualifications
- State of Hawaii Respiratory Therapy License required (must be active by assignment start)
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, including care of adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
- RRT preferred
- NRP preferred
- Proof of flu vaccination or facility-approved medical or religious exemption required prior to contract start
- No first travel assignments (previous travel assignment experience required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong ventilator management and non-invasive ventilation skills
- Airway management and advanced respiratory interventions
- Familiarity with PB 980, PB 840, V60, and ParaPac transport ventilators
- Proficient with computerized charting systems and Pyxis medication management
- Competent in pediatric, neonatal and adult respiratory care
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities
