Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care to individuals in a mental health setting
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
• Monitor and document vital signs, behavior changes, and patient responses accurately
• Support Occupational Therapy activities and follow care plans to help patient progress
• Ensure patient safety through observation, de-escalation techniques, and safe environment practices
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification or Medical Assistant certification required
• Experience working with mental health populations preferred
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and attend a 2-3 week orientation
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass facility background checks and required screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA or MA program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care and support
• Strong observation and documentation skills
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
• Ability to follow treatment and occupational therapy plans
• Effective communication and teamwork in a clinical setting
• Calm, patient-centered approach to de-escalation and behavior management
