Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform accurate, compassionate venipuncture and capillary blood draws for patients of all ages
- Collect, label, and prepare specimens following strict chain-of-custody and safety protocols
- Use clear communication to explain procedures to patients and put them at ease
- Maintain accurate documentation and verify patient information to ensure specimen integrity
- Follow infection control, safety, and CPR procedures to protect patients and staff
- Provide reliable coverage at other SY Health facilities as needed to support the team
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Certification
- Current California State Phlebotomy Licensure
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Preferred 1-2 years of medical laboratory experience as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
- Proficient in medical terminology
- Valid clean and clear Driver's license
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
