Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12 rotating); schedule varies and includes day and night rotations and weekends

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and document thorough NICU respiratory evaluations and patient assessments
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory treatments and assist physicians as needed
- Deliver high-quality infant transport care to and from referral health systems
- Document all care, including order entry, medication charting, EMR updates, and incident reports
- Disassemble, clean, assemble, and perform preventative maintenance on respiratory equipment and tag items needing repair
- Identify significant changes in patient condition and communicate promptly with the care team
- Provide compassionate patient and family education and support tailored to each family’s needs
- Participate in department processes such as running/verifying reports and processing patient charges
Qualifications
- Active North Dakota Respiratory Therapist license required prior to start date
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) strongly preferred; new graduates must obtain NBRC registry within 12 months of start
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU respiratory care in the specified specialty
- Recent travel experience required; preferred candidates have completed 3 travel assignments
- Experience working in a Level 2 Trauma Center is preferred
- Submission packet should include resume, skills checklist, and proof of licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in NICU respiratory care, infant transport, and neonatal critical care principles
- Skilled in patient assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory treatments, and physician collaboration
- Proficient with EMR documentation, order entry, and medication charting
- Experience with respiratory equipment cleaning, preventative maintenance, and repair tagging
- Strong communication skills for family education and multidisciplinary teamwork
- Ability to identify clinical changes quickly and escalate appropriately
