Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, direct patient care during overnight shifts
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Support patient comfort, dignity, and emotional needs overnight
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and handoffs to day staff
Qualifications
- Current LPN or RN license (eligible to practice in Maine)
- Clinical experience in long-term care, post-acute, or similar preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or obtained upon hire
- Comfort with medication administration, wound care, and bedside assessments
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- LPN: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- RN: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage time during a busy overnight shift
- Comfortable with electronic health records and point-of-care charting
- Competent in medication administration, IV basics (as applicable), and wound care
- Skilled at patient and family communication and education
