Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough pre-operative assessments and patient education to prepare patients and families for surgery
• Deliver safe, attentive post-anesthesia care in the PACU and closely monitor recovery
• Perform airway, hemodynamic, and pain assessments and intervene as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to ensure smooth patient flow
• Document assessments, interventions, and discharge instructions clearly and accurately
• Maintain infection control standards and adhere to TB clearance and other facility policies
• Participate in shared on-call rotations to support the team during nights and weekends

Qualifications

• Current California RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TB clearance completed within 12 months prior to start
• Experience in Pre-Op and PACU nursing preferred
• Comfortable participating in a shared on-call rotation including nights and weekends
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced perioperative setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and PACU protocols
• Skill in post-anesthesia assessment, airway management basics, and vital sign monitoring
• Ability to triage and prioritize patients in recovery and pre-op
• Familiarity with medication administration and basic emergency response in the PACU
• Patient education skills and compassionate bedside manner
