Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in a rehabilitation setting
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs
- Collaborate with therapists and the interdisciplinary team to support rehab goals
- Document patient care and progress clearly in the medical record
- Assist with mobility, activities of daily living, and restorative nursing
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
- Educate residents and families to promote recovery and independence
Qualifications
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license as applicable to role
- Previous experience or interest in rehabilitation nursing preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Reliable, professional, and patient-centered approach to care
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN diploma or RN ADN/BSN as appropriate)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and accurate documentation
- Patient assessment and vital sign monitoring
- Basic wound care and restorative nursing techniques
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting best practices
- Safe patient handling and mobility assistance
- Infection control standards and workplace safety
- Collaborative care planning with interdisciplinary teams
