Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents according to care plans and facility standards
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document all care accurately
- Assess resident conditions, report changes, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to keep care on track
- Support activities of daily living and promote residents' dignity and independence
- Communicate clearly and kindly with residents and families to build trust and understanding
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain strict infection control and safety practices to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Current LPN or RN license in good standing; Massachusetts licensure preferred
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- Comfortable working night shifts and flexible, per diem scheduling
- Strong clinical judgment, reliable attendance, and excellent communication skills
- Previous long-term care or rehab experience is a plus but energetic learners are welcome
Education
- Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and safe documentation practices
- Basic wound care, IV familiarity for RNs if required, and restorative nursing principles
- Ability to perform resident assessments and recognize changes in condition
- Electronic charting and accurate record keeping
- Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize in a busy night environment
- Empathy, patience, and a resident-centered approach to care
