Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room and sterile field for cardiovascular surgical procedures
Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and supplies efficiently
Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot issues as needed
Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures
Document surgical counts and assist with patient positioning
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to ensure smooth case flow

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Minimum 1-2 years of recent CVOR experience preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular surgical instruments and equipment
Understanding of sterile technique and infection control principles
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and adapt quickly
Team player with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected situations
