Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to patients undergoing total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries, and bariatric procedures
• Monitor patients with medical overflow conditions and manage post-operative care including hemovacs and JP drains
• Administer medications including occasional heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN
• Collaborate with charge nurse and patient care techs to maintain nurse-to-patient ratios (days 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6)
• Perform bedside shift report to ensure continuity and safety
• Float to medical and telemetry units as needed, assisting with telemetry monitoring

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Dakota or compact state
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Prefer surgical experience with post-op and early ambulation skills
• First-time travelers welcome to apply!
• Ability to float to medical and telemetry units
• Commitment to providing close-knit, high-quality care in a supportive unit culture

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and post-operative care
• Proficiency in managing telemetry monitoring and interpreting strips (with support from monitor techs)
• Experience with heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN administration
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for bedside shift report
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with a wide range of patient diagnoses
