Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM (Day) or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Night), includes every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide specialized nursing care to cardiovascular patients requiring intermediate care and post-surgical monitoring
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, titrate drips such as amiodarone, nitroglycerin, and cardizem
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists and cardiologists
Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and recovery plans
Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed
Ensure patient safety and adhere to protocols

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiovascular nursing
Ability to titrate drips and interpret telemetry
Driver's license required for radius check

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in cardiovascular nursing, including management of acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, and arrhythmias
Skill in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Experience with common titratable drips: Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with 1:4 nurse-patient ratios
