Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-14-2026

End Date: 09-13-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend (Monday and Friday off that weekend)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat a diverse patient population in acute inpatient settings, including Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for conditions such as orthopedic surgeries, neurological impairments, and general deconditioning
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate safe discharges
Document patient progress accurately and communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and case managers
Provide education to patients and families on therapeutic exercises and home programs

Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapy license required
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Minimum of 1 year of acute inpatient PT experience preferred
Strong clinical skills in orthopedics, neurology, and medical/surgical care

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in evaluating and treating post-surgical orthopedics (TKA, THA, spinal surgery) and CVA patients
Proficient in functional mobility assessments, therapeutic exercise prescription, and discharge planning
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced hospital environment
