Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to labor and delivery patients and mother-baby couplets in a rural LDRP unit
• Monitor fetal heart rates using OB Trace Vue EFM system and intervene as needed
• Titrate and manage IV drips including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and other medications
• Assist with neonatal CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen as part of the care team
• Collaborate with charge nurse and surgery team during C-section circulations for the baby
• Float to MSP/ED for sitting 1:1 with patients when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Ability to pass fit testing for N95 respirators (facial hair must be able to be removed if needed)
• Comfortable working in a rural hospital with limited services and distance to NICU

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in fetal monitoring and interpretation of EFM tracings
• Skilled in titrating antepartum and postpartum drips
• Experience with neonatal respiratory support (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow)
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and adapt in a small unit setting
• Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for labor and postpartum ratios
