Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM with call requirements (3-4 weeknights, every other to every third weekend)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform as a scrub tech in cardiovascular surgeries including open hearts, CABG, valves, thoracotomies, and robotic cases
• Assist with vascular and thoracic procedures such as AAA repairs, carotids, and ECMO
• First scrub on a variety of complex cases
• Cross-train to general OR specialties during low CV volume to support other surgical services
• Float to the floor as a 1:1 patient sitter if needed to supplement hours
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours, weekends, and holidays
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure all instruments and supplies are ready for each procedure

Qualifications

• Must hold an active BLS certification
• CST or NCCT certification required
• North Dakota UAP certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
• Experience with open hearts, CABG, valves, and first scrub skills are essential
• Willingness to cross-train and float as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in CVOR procedures including open heart, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
• Familiarity with robotic systems (ION robotic) and advanced cardiac support devices (Impella 5.5, ECMO)
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and maintain efficient surgical flow
• Strong sterile technique and infection control practices
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing case volumes and assignments
