Roles & Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders
• Develop appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly
• Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify services as needed
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and health team members
• Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic system
• Accurately record treatment minutes for services provided
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings
• Complete required trainings, in-services, and conferences
• Obtain necessary DME or supplies per regulatory requirements
• Supervise and support CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists
• Adhere to ASHA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics

Qualifications

• 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience (new grads with Level II experience considered)
• LTC or Rehab experience required
• Active Texas state license required
• CCC certification from ASHA required
• CCS certification preferred (3 years experience)
• Willing to provide one reference at submission
