Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend, on-call possible

Hours per Week: 60

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care to cardiovascular patients including those undergoing PTCA, stents, TAVR, and open heart surgeries
Utilize clinical judgment to assess, plan, and implement care for patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes in a Beacon Award-winning CVU
Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms and manage cardiac medications
Float to similar units as needed and maintain flexibility to adapt to patient needs

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of Stepdown/Telemetry experience
Proficiency in cardiac nursing care and EKG interpretation
Active Michigan RN license (or compact license with Michigan verification)
Willingness to float to similar units
BLS and ACLS certifications preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Stepdown/Telemetry nursing
Cardiovascular patient care
EKG rhythm interpretation
Post-operative care for open heart surgery patients
Congestive heart failure management
