Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct observation and inpatient nursing care to Med Surg patients within your RN scope of practice
• Assess and monitor patient clinical status including respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and pain management needs
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and notify the appropriate provider
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and treatments safely and accurately
• Complete thorough documentation in Cerner including assessments, care plans, and patient education
• Coordinate care using SBAR and approved handoff procedures to ensure seamless transitions
• Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and infection prevention standards throughout every shift

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience required
• Previous traveler experience required
• Current Colorado RN license or ability to obtain licensure in good standing
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required (or completion within 3 months of start)
• Current PALS certification required (or completion within 3 months of start)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited RN program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in Cerner EHR/EMR system
• Excellent medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Comfortable working independently on night shift
• Basic computer skills and electronic health record experience
• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
