Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a 26-bed cardiopulmonary telemetry and neuro unit
Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret EKGs to detect abnormalities
Administer medications and treatments as ordered, including high-flow oxygen and ventilator support
Perform neurological assessments and manage care for patients with CVAs and other neuro conditions
Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

Current and unencumbered RN license in Arizona
Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry or progressive care experience (within past 6 months)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Ability to pass Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam (2 attempts max) and pass/fail Sim Lab on day one
Experience with centralized telemetry and EKG interpretation

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, dysrhythmia recognition, and telemetry monitoring
Proficient in neurological assessments and managing stroke patients
Comfortable with high-flow oxygen devices and ventilator management
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, 26-bed unit with 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio
