Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate and progressive care to cardiac patients, including downgraded CVICU and telemetry patients
• Titrate and manage critical drips such as amiodarone, nitroprusside, nicardipine, epinephrine, cardizem, and other BP management medications
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, respond to rhythm changes, and escalate care as needed
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and cardiology to manage complex cardiac conditions like CHF, A-fib, and post-procedure recovery
• Support the thoracic program, EP lab, cath lab, and structural heart patients with thorough assessments and interventions
• Float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed, ensuring continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a cardiovascular or critical care setting
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Driver's license required for proof of distance (50-mile radius rule applies)
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in titrating vasoactive drips and managing cardiac emergencies
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Strong understanding of post-surgical and interventional cardiac care
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
• Competent with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula oxygen delivery
