Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with post-surgical conditions including total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and abdominal procedures
Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and manage IV drips such as heparin and PCAs
Assess and manage surgical drains (JP, Hemovac) and ostomies
Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care
Perform bedside shift reports to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

Current and valid RN license in North Dakota or compact state
BLS certification required
Previous surgical, post-op, or early ambulation experience preferred
Open to first-time travelers

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of post-surgical care and common diagnoses such as joint replacements, abdominal surgeries, and bariatrics
Skills in managing PCA pumps, TPN, heparin drips
Ability to work in a fast-paced Med Surg unit, floating to medical and telemetry as needed
Strong communication for bedside shift reports
