Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adults on a progressive care unit, managing mixed medical/surgical, cardiac, and stroke patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and titrate intravenous drips (e.g., heparin, insulin, octreotide) as ordered
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care
• Perform frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges in a fast-paced, high-flow unit
• Float to med/surg and other areas including ICU/ED as needed based on skill set
• Participate in unit orientation and pass an open-book exam on skills learned during the first week

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent PCU or telemetry experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry rhythms
• Comfortable titrating drips (heparin, insulin, etc.)
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet the 50-mile radius rule (no current affiliation with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facilities)
• Must be willing to adhere to facility policies (e.g., no artificial nails in patient care areas)
