Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM), with weekend rotation (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule; night weekends: Fridays and Saturdays)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Monitor and interpret telemetry readings for cardiac and stroke patients
Administer medications and titrate drips including heparin, octreotide, and insulin
Collaborate with the healthcare team to manage admissions, transfers, and discharges
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure safety protocols
Float to Med/Surg, ICU, or ED as needed based on abilities

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PCU or similar experience preferred
Driver's license required at submittal
Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation with 90% score
Positive team player willing to work in a high-flow unit

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac telemetry
Experience with titrating intravenous drips
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments with frequent patient turnover
