Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 35-bed PCU
Monitor and titrate critical drips including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications
Care for patients with cardiac conditions, nephrology issues, strokes, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring
Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed
Maintain a positive attitude and strong communication skills to support team success
Ensure patient safety and adhere to strict fingernail policy for patient care areas

Qualifications

Current and unrestricted RN license in Nebraska
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Minimum 1 year of PCU experience preferred
Ability to pass an open-book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation
Driver's license required for submission to verify 50-mile radius rule

Knowledge & Skills

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in titrating intravenous drips
Comfortable with fast-paced, high-acuity patient care
Adaptability to float between units
Familiarity with CommonSpirit policies and procedures
