Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts; night shifts Friday-Saturday, day shifts Saturday-Sunday; 36 hours per week; schedule set 4 weeks in advance; may include on-call with 30-minute response time.

Candidate Pay Rate: $93 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care in a Family Birthing Center, managing LDRP, OBED, and postpartum patients
Handle labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care for patients 35 weeks and above, including twin deliveries
Circulate in OR for C-sections and assist with newborn stabilization in the NICU
Perform NST antepartum testing and manage titratable drips such as Pitocin and insulin
Follow AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios and fetal monitoring
Act as charge nurse or shift manager when needed, ensuring safe staffing and patient care

Qualifications

Active RN license in California
Minimum 1 year of LDRP experience; 3 years preferred
Must have OR circulating experience; no postpartum-only candidates
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
Ability to titrate medications and respond to neonatal emergencies
Two supervisory references required (1 within 12 months, 1 within 3 years)

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in LDRP nursing, including labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
Skilled in OR circulating for C-sections and assisting with deliveries
Expertise in fetal monitoring (Fetalink system) and interpreting EFM strips
Knowledge of AWHONN staffing guidelines and neonatal resuscitation
Ability to titrate Pitocin and insulin drips
Comfortable with NRP and managing high-risk deliveries without in-house pediatrics
