Location: Kearney, Nebraska

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM), every other weekend required. Self-scheduling for core staff, travelers scheduled accordingly.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a 33-bed ICU
Monitor and titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation as ordered
Interpret telemetry strips and monitor patient rhythms
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to manage trauma, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis cases
Assist with ventilator management and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state accepted
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Driver's license required for verification of 50-mile radius rule
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience strongly preferred
Ability to pass an open-book orientation exam with 90% score

Knowledge & Skills

Experience with trauma, cardiac, overdose, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress patients
Proficient in titrating drips including cardiac, insulin, and sedation
Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
Ventilator management from nasal cannula to vent
Strong communication and teamwork skills
