Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), including weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead patient care as Charge Nurse in a dynamic ICU float pool covering MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU
Float across multiple facilities within Denver Zone 3 (including OrthoColorado, Longmont United, St. Anthony, and St. Anthony North)
Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the hospital
Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
Interpret telemetry strips independently and manage ventilator, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios (1:1-3) based on acuity, including high-acuity patients on CRRT, IABP, or Impella

Qualifications

Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (3+ years if first-time traveler)
Prior Charge Nurse experience required
Epic experience preferred; comfort with floating across units and facilities
Ability to independently manage all critical drips and interpret telemetry

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in critical care and telemetry interpretation
Proficiency in ventilator and CPAP/BiPAP management
Strong code response and rapid response skills
Ability to float and adapt to different ICU units and patient populations
Comfortable titrating high-risk medications and managing complex equipment
