Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality peri-procedural nursing care in the cardiac catheterization lab, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Assess and monitor patient hemodynamics and respond promptly to changes
• Assist physicians and the cath lab team with diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and handle cath lab equipment and supplies with care
• Document patient care, procedural details, and post-procedure instructions accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow and outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required; compact license accepted where applicable)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent nursing experience — cath lab experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred or able to obtain quickly
• Demonstrated proficiency with cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic assessment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced procedural environment
• Ability to travel for a 13-week contract and adapt quickly to a new clinical setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred or equivalent clinical experience

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiac catheterization procedures and sterile technique
• Skill in interpreting ECGs and recognizing acute cardiac changes
• Familiarity with cath lab equipment, contrast use, and radiation safety basics
• Competence in hemodynamic monitoring and vascular access care
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy
• Proficient documentation skills in electronic medical records
