Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care for patients, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and document patient condition, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support the medical team in executing treatment plans and following facility protocols
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection control standards
• Build rapport with patients and colleagues while maintaining professional boundaries in a correctional setting

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid in California
• Willingness to complete orientation Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Ability to work Sunday through Thursday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB test as required by facility
• Clear background check and any facility-required screenings for correctional settings
• CPR/BLS certification preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient hygiene, mobility assistance, feeding, and toileting support
• Strong observational skills and accurate documentation practices
• Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and correctional facility procedures
• Good communication and teamwork skills under busy conditions
• Ability to remain calm and de-escalate tense situations when needed
