Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during overnight hours
• Perform focused assessments and monitor patient status, responding to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document per policy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Follow MST program protocols and deliver specialized support as required
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate handoffs effectively
• Ensure safety, infection control, and comfort for patients throughout the shift

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in the state of California (or compact licensure where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred where relevant
• Experience in acute care or specialty programs preferred; MST experience is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Comfort working independently overnight and handling acute situations
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of nursing assessment, medication administration, and documentation practices
• Familiarity with emergency response and escalation procedures during night shifts
• Ability to use electronic medical records and enter accurate clinical notes
• Skilled at prioritizing tasks and managing time during busy overnight periods
• Compassionate patient interaction and de-escalation techniques for sensitive situations
