Shift Type: 3x12-hour Day shifts (07:00 AM - 07:00 PM), typically three 12-hour day shifts per week; weekend standby once per month (Saturday 06:00 AM - Monday 06:00 AM) and on-call for cardiac emergencies
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $70 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative care as a scrub or circulator in the CVOR, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
- Respond rapidly to cardiac emergencies and assist the team during high-acuity procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to ensure seamless case flow and 1:1 patient care
- Administer and monitor blood and blood products according to policy and best practices
- Document accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care and compliance with facility protocols
- Operate and maintain specialty equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Steris systems, IABP and LVAD support devices
- Participate in Universal Protocol (time out) procedures and specimen handling/labeling to prevent errors
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required for practice in Oregon)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant CVOR/scrub and circulator experience (travel experience required)
- Demonstrated experience with cardiac surgery cases such as CABG, MAZE, valve procedures, LVAD and transplant assistance
- BLS certification preferred; additional specialty certifications a plus
- Comfortable charting in Epic and following hospital documentation requirements
- Reliable transportation — must have a vehicle for this assignment
- Ability to respond to on-call cardiac emergencies and float to nearby facilities as needed
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- Nursing education (ADN or BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Scrub and circulator proficiency in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Cardiac monitoring and intraoperative hemodynamic awareness
- Familiarity with LVAD/RVAD, IABP, femoral cannulation and transplant procedures
- Experience with CABG, mitral valve replacement, MAZE procedures and aortic aneurysm repair
- Competence with electrosurgical units, Steris systems and fiber optic lighting
- Strong specimen handling, labeling practices and adherence to Universal Protocol
- Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity surgical environments
- Epic charting and electronic documentation skills
