Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for newborns in the NICU and nursery.
• Perform neonatal assessments, monitoring, and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Lead neonatal resuscitation and stabilization efforts as needed, following NRP protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—physicians, respiratory therapists, and families—to coordinate care plans.
• Educate and support families on newborn care, feeding, and discharge planning.
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• ACLS and BLS required
• Experience working in NICU or Nursery settings preferred
• Strong neonatal assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and thrive in a fast-paced neonatal environment

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in neonatal monitoring, assessment, and documentation
• Knowledge of neonatal resuscitation and stabilization protocols (NRP)
• Familiarity with NICU/Nursery equipment and neonatal medication administration
• Excellent family-centered communication and teaching abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and charting
