Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support all users of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and ancillary clinical systems using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing and video conferencing methods
• Configure and optimize clinical content (labs, radiology, meds, immunizations, diagnoses/procedures) in collaboration with medical staff
• Triage user problems and coordinate resolution with Help Desk, IT teams, coders, and clinical leaders
• Continuously assess and recommend improvements to clinical content and medical decision support systems
• Evaluate and streamline clinical workflows across outpatient and inpatient sites to align with best practices
• Develop clear, user-friendly training materials and documentation to support adoption and ongoing competency
• Collaborate with vendors and IT to maintain clinical applications and ensure system reliability

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Alaska or other U.S. state required). Direct hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date; agency staff must have an active Alaska license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of experience with clinical information systems/EHRs
• Minimum 1 year of experience with computer technology (programming, installation, reporting, or hardware/network experience)
• Experience training users and developing educational materials; teaching experience preferred
• Clinical informatics training preferred; BSN preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred (advanced degree may substitute for minimum experience on a year-by-year basis)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with clinical applications support, EHR configuration, and clinical content optimization
• Familiarity with scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Understanding of HL7 messaging and clinical information exchange (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across clinical and IT stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and judgment in high-pressure situations
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites
