Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography and CT imaging with professional judgment and attention to radiation safety
• Conduct breast needle localization, specimen radiography, and stereotactic breast biopsy imaging as required
• Maintain patient records, ensure quality assurance and complete daily/weekly QC tasks
• Assist with interventional procedures and prepare procedure areas and equipment, including automatic contrast injector setup
• Provide compassionate patient care across the lifespan and tailor protocols for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Participate in supply inventory and ordering, and help maintain equipment in good working order
• Rotate shifts and assume department responsibility in absence of a supervisor
• Support teleradiology transmission, sterile technique practices, and venipuncture as needed

Qualifications

• Current ARRT in Radiography (required)
• BLS (American Heart Association) required within 45 days of start
• Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modalities (mammography and CT emphasized)
• Willingness to be on-call and report to work within 20 minutes
• Active pursuit and documentation of 5 Mammography CEU credits per year (ACR/FDA requirements)

Education

• ARRT (Radiography) certification required
• Additional ARDMS or modality-specific certifications (CT, MR, MG, NM, RVT, RDCS) are preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in diagnostic mammography: screening, diagnostic, specimen radiography, quality control, and stereotactic biopsy support
• CT operation including automatic contrast injector use and altering protocols for age-specific care
• Fundamentals of radiation protection and quality assurance program maintenance
• Competence in teleradiology transmission, sterile technique, and venipuncture
• Comfort working in multiple imaging modalities and willingness to cross-train
• Strong patient assessment, communication, and documentation skills across all age groups
