Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations (including AB and OB exams) for radiologist interpretation
• Apply professional judgment and radiation protection principles to ensure patient safety
• Maintain accurate patient records and procedure paperwork
• Participate in departmental quality assurance and accreditation activities
• Care for transducers and maintain the Trophon station and sterile technique for invasive procedures
• Assist with ultrasound invasive procedures and consult with referring physicians as needed
• Cover departmental duties in the absence of a supervisor and perform ancillary tasks as requested
• Rotate shifts and travel to other SEARHC sites to ensure coverage and patient access

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS certification in at least one modality (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (required)
• Experience performing AB/OB exams and other diagnostic sonography related to assigned modality
• Ability and willingness to pursue additional RDMS certifications (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS)
• Comfortable rotating shifts and traveling between sites as needed
• Strong teamwork, communication, and stress management skills

• Sonographic examination and diagnostic interpretation
• Radiation protection practices
• Transducer care and Trophon disinfection
• Patient transfer and patient records management
• Quality assurance and policy/procedure participation
• Ability to assist with ultrasound invasive procedures
• Willingness to learn other imaging modalities as assigned
