Shift Type: Days (typical weekdays), 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 10-hour day shifts; evening call 1-2 times/week (starts after 5:00 PM); 24-hour weekend call 1-2 weekends per month (6:30 AM - 6:30 AM); rotating call coverage and holiday coverage (1 major, 1 minor); 36-hour guaranteed equivalent with block/flex scheduling

Roles & Responsibilities
- Set up procedure rooms and equipment for Cath Lab and IR cases to ensure smooth starts
- Circulate during procedures, maintaining sterile technique and supporting the team
- Administer procedural sedation safely and monitor patient response throughout interventions
- Perform continuous hemodynamic monitoring and promptly communicate changes to the team
- Float between procedure room and control room to manage monitoring while keeping the patient visible
- Assist with EP studies, pacer/defibrillator cases, central lines, PICC placements, Swans, and stroke interventions
- Document care accurately in Cerner and coordinate with techs, physicians, and charge nurse
- Participate in call coverage and respond within the required 30-minute window when called
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure (required) and eligibility to work in California
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) nursing experience
- Experience with procedural sedation and hemodynamic monitoring
- Familiarity with Cerner charting system
- Comfortable with call expectations, evening coverage, and 24-hour weekend call rotation
- Prior travel nurse experience preferred but not required
- COVID vaccination required per site policy
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in patient monitoring and hemodynamic interpretation
- Proven ability to administer and monitor procedural sedation
- Experience with cardiac catheterization and EP studies
- Skilled in circulating, procedure setup, and working in a 3-person Cath/IR team
- Competence with central line, PICC, and Swan management
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking under pressure
- Comfortable floating between control room and procedure room while maintaining patient visibility
- Accurate electronic charting using Cerner
